How It Started
In 1815, ten people organized a church in the Long Island community called New Village.
Within three years, they built and met in the historical church building which is situated on Middle
Country Road in Lake Grove, New York. In 1949 the church withdrew from the Congregational
denomination, and it became an independent evangelical church self-governed by its Board of Elders
and Deacons. New Village Church seeks to glorify Jesus Christ through the study of the Scriptures, worship, prayer, fellowship and missions. You are welcome at New Village, regardless of your background or previous affiliations.

Church Purpose
The purpose of the New Village Congregational Church is to glorify God through the
edification of Christians by the instruction of God's Word, the evangelizing of
the unsaved, and the world-wide proclamation of God's saving grace expressed in
the shed blood and finished work of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary. |
